Panasonic TS3 - Best “Mobile” Waterproof Camera
Until the mobile phone industry starts putting out waterproof devices, I am anticipating receiving this camera for my needs at the beach, pool, kayaking, snorkeling and an upcoming cruise. I’ve done extensive research and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS3 (12.1 MP Rugged/Waterproof Digital Camera with 4.6x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.7-Inch LCD) is highly rated with its best competition coming from the Sony TX10. But for my purposes of underwater photo taking the Panny is rated better for that specific task. Read the Amazon reviews and see this camera is a winner

FaceTime, Camera and PhotoBooth Icons Confirm Camera in iPad 2
![]()
FaceTime will allow iPad 2 owners to video conference with iPhone, iPod Touch and Mac owners. The standard Camera app will allow you to take photographs. We still can’t say for sure if there will be a back camera, as the camera app could possibly be used only for the front camera. Finally, the Photo Booth icon confirms that Apple is including their Mac OS X Photo Booth app which allows users to take fun photos and apply various filters to them. Filters also found in the beta include Thermal Camera, Mirror, X-Ray, Kaleidoscope, Light Tunnel, Squeeze, Twirl and Stretch.
Amazon’s Gold box deal of the day is the Panasonic TA-1 Pocket HD Camcorder
Amazon’s Gold box deal of the day is the Panasonic TA-1 Pocket HD Camcorder - at a great price of $69.99. I haven’t tested this myself but reading the reviews I get a general sense that the picture quality is pretty good (supports full HD), despite some other missing features. At this 59% discounted price it’s about what I’d expect.

Perhaps a nice gift, or a go-anywhere backup to your bigger more expensive video camera?
The most recent film shot entirely on the iPhone and iPod Touch 4. Great cinematography for a mobile phone. Watch the series.
